A&E Networks End of Summer Preview

America’s favorite bidders are back in the business of buying and selling and ready for some intense action on their hunt for the extraordinary. New episodes of A&E’s hit original series “Storage Wars,” featuring the return of legendary bidder Dave Hester, will begin airing with back-to-back premieres on Tuesday, August 12 at 9PM and 9:30PM ET/PT. Immediately following is the premiere of the new original series “Brandi and Jarrod: Married to the Job,” offering viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the lives of long-time couple and dynamic bidding duo from “Storage Wars” Brandi Passante and Jarrod Schulz, at 10PM ET/PT.

“Storage Wars,” which follows teams of bidders looking to score big in the high-stakes world of storage auctions, is back with a vengeance. As the weather heats up in Southern California, so do the long-standing rivalries, and with the comeback of ‘The Mogul’ Dave Hester, the gloves are off and anything goes! This time around the ultimate storage warriors are ready to rumble as they blaze through lockers in hot pursuit of auction gold.

In the new series “Brandi and Jarrod: Married to the Job,” viewers get a glimpse of their favorite “Storage Wars” couple outside of the auction game. When the bidding stops, Brandi and Jarrod come home to Orange County, CA where their busy lives revolve around raising two children and managing their second-hand store. After 15 years together, Brandi and Jarrod finally decide to tie the knot, and they approach wedding planning in a way that only they could: with a little love, a lot of bickering and constant detours along the way.

“Storage Wars” is produced by Original Productions, a FremantleMedia Company for A&E Network. Executive producers for Original Productions are Thom Beers, Philip D. Segal and Jeff Conroy. Jeff Bumgarner is co-executive producer. A&E executive producers are Dave Mace and Sean Gottlieb.

DARK HORSE NATION, a new 12-episode series premiering Tuesday, July 29 at 10 p.m. on HISTORY, combines great beer, innovation and renegade entrepreneurialism as it follows the day-to-day adventures of the Dark Horse Brewing Company.

In small town Marshall, Michigan, there is a group of life-long friends living out their version of the American dream. Led by rebel entrepreneur and fearless visionary, Aaron Morse, Dark Horse is a thriving business set amongst a rural paradise. Morse and his team have been making a name for themselves since 1997, when Dark Horse started bottling their unique line of craft beers. Now distributed in 12 states, the Dark Horse crew is determined to turn their business into a household name. Its die-hard fan base even has its own nickname: Dark Horse Nation.

However, DARK HORSE NATION is not only about crafting beer, it’s a way of life. Their recipe for success is as much about experimentation and trouble-shooting as it is self-taught skill and determination. Every week, there is a new project, from creating outlandish inventions to building additions to their ever-growing compound. Around here everything is done by hand, the old-fashioned way, or as they like to put it the “Dark Horse Way.”

The characters featured in DARK HORSE NATION are:

Aaron Morse – Owner, Dark Horse Brewing Co.

Aaron is the brains and vision behind the meteoric rise of Dark Horse Brewing Co. He’s created a national following for his offbeat microbrews and has turned Dark Horse into a lifestyle. But his genius doesn’t stop at beer – he has endless ambition for designing and engineering a better way to do things. He’s determined to grow Dark Horse the brand into an international phenomenon and he’s going to do it his way.

Wacky Morse – Aaron Morse’s father/Co-Owner, Dark Horse Brewing Co.

Aaron started Dark Horse in the back of his father’s party store. This fact is not lost on Wacky who, though retired, still comes to work every day like he owns the joint. It is Aaron’s place now but that doesn’t stop Wacky from bossing everyone around, including his son.

Cabe – Head of Maintenance, Dark Horse Brewing Co.

Cabe is able to build anything that Aaron Morse can dream up. Cabe spends his time rigging, welding, hammering and drinking. Not necessarily in that order. He once had a job in corporate America and he doesn’t want to go back.

Wiggs – Head of Brewery Operations, Dark Horse Brewing Co.

Wiggs is in charge of all brewing at Dark Horse. He is the chemist tasked with creating more than 80 limited release brews each year. As Dark Horse continues to grow, Wiggs just keeps going – an endless surplus of creativity and brewing ingenuity. He’s the only brew master that Aaron has ever wanted on his team and a big reason for why there is such a cult following for Dark Horse Beer.

Chappy – Head of Shipping and Receiving, Dark Horse Brewing Co.

Chappy and Aaron Morse have known each other the longest; two misfit kids who grew up in Marshall, MI and are now bonded for life. He is the gatekeeper of Dark Horse – he knows everything that comes in and goes out of the compound. Chappy is also the biggest and strongest guy at Dark Horse and serves as crowd control on those nights that get a little rowdy.

DARK HORSE NATION is produced for HISTORY by Warrior Poets. Tim Healy and Steve Ascher are executive producers for HISTORY. Jeremy Chilnick, Matthew Galkin, Ethan Goldman, Morgan Spurlock, and Elizabeth Wolff are executive producers for Warrior Poets.

“Brandi and Jarrod: Married to the Job” is produced by Original Productions, a FremantleMedia Company for A&E Network. Executive producers for Original Productions are Thom Beers, Philip D. Segal, Jeff Conroy and Jeff Bumgarner. A&E executive producers are Drew Tappon, Shelly Tatro, Dave Mace and Sean Gottlieb.

FYI’s new one-hour series, “Red Hot Design,” follows Shasta Smith, a cutting edge interior designer, and her team of talented “grease monkeys” who salvage, build and repurpose vintage scrap metal into phenomenal architectural elements matched with great color and fabrics. Shasta, the owner of Sacramento-based design shop, Vintage Monkey wields beauty, talent and razor-sharp wit to keep everything on track as the team juggles projects and deadlines. This seven episode series premieres Friday, August 15 at 10pm ET on FYI.

For the past 15 years, Shasta has served as ringleader of a colorful crew at Vintage Monkey. With her inherited eye for good finds, Shasta’s designs go from scrapyard to centerpiece. From sketch to showroom, Shasta enlists the help of her team, sculptor Thomas Ramey; expert metal fabricator, Alex English; specialized welder, Tony Bures; and brainiac, Jason Chernowetz. Traveling throughout scrapyards for inspiration and materials, the Vintage Monkey team goes above and beyond creating works of art straight out of the vintage industrial era.

For a theater’s neglected outdoor space, the Vintage Monkey team collected thousands of bullet casings from a shooting range and hand strung them to form a unique stage curtain. The team creates floor lamps born from simple steel mesh and a water pipe, used barbed wire into beautiful wreathes, motorcycle gears into table frames and the chandelier above a salvaged 60’s shop serves as a conference table. Vintage Monkey may look like just a motorcycle shop from the outside, but the 2,000 square foot garage is lined with projects that exhibit Shasta’s passion and her innovative designs.
